As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing, enhancing, and improving supplier performance across quality, cost, and delivery aspects. Your proactive approach will involve conducting supplier assessment audits, on-site reviews, and delivering targeted supplier training. By ensuring suppliers' capabilities align with print specifications and volume demands, you will guarantee customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in managing suppliers for new program launches and supporting successful PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submissions to divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organize and prioritize work, collaborating with various suppliers.

2. Manage and support suppliers.

3. A key figure in part/process costing.

4. Champion APQP and PPAP

5. Review and prepare supplier PPAP.

6. Lead supplier run-at-rate/PSO.

7. Develop a comprehensive method and action items matrix.

8. Implement and verify corrective actions.

9. Provide comprehensive trip reports, action items, and meeting minutes.

10. Actively participate in the supplier PSO process.

11. Support supplier selection by conducting on-site robust quality audits

12. Review data related to issues noted on DMNs.

13. Drive supplier improvements by utilizing Lean methods, supplier KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and implementing continuous Kaizen strategies.

14. Work in compliance with and adhere to IATF16949 and ISO14001 standards.

To thrive in this exciting role, you should meet the following requirements:

* Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

* Understand part/process costing which will come up in the discussions that will take place in the role.

* Understand when they or a supplier is driving cost into a product (or better still driving cost out!).

* Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in Automotive Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or Supply Chain (or a similar manufacturing environment).

* Previous experience in Process/Quality Engineering would be a definite asset.

* Excellent knowledge and understanding of APQP, PPAPs, and Project Management.

* Desirable training in project management and possession of a Project Management Professional Certificate
