Hours: Monday to Thursday 08.30am to 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am to 2.30 pm.

Apple Recruitment Services are delighted to be working with our client, an organisation within the Engineering Sector, to appoint a new Accounts Assistant. Training will be given however applicants will need to have some experience in Purchase and Sales Ledger as a minimum.

The Accounts Assistant will join their Accounts Team in the Dungannon area and cover all aspects of the accounts function in a busy department. You can expect a varied role and liaise with all departments within the organisation as well as suppliers and customers. Duties include:
* Run invoices, raise credits and credit reclaims, posting cash onto system received via bacs, cash, and credit card payment. dealing with any queries that may arise, checking new customers information with the debt insurers.
* Purchase Ledger - Check purchase invoices, 3 ways match the invoices and post to ledger. If any queries notify relevant staff member or supplier.
* Record carriage collections arranged by purchasing department and cross check with invoices. Liaise with colleagues and/or carriers to resolve any queries.
* Record export information as required by HMRC, check and request amendments if necessary.
* Check import information and ensure correct duty and VAT are being paid through our deferment account
* Updating of computer system – entering new accounts, change of name and addresses, changes or prices and discount amendments
* Answering of telephones for accounts queries, assisting and resolving same when necessary
* Petty cash reconciliation, preparing bank lodgements.
* Checking carrier’s dockets against invoices and quotations given for same.
* Complete EC listing each month and providing same to HMRC
* Record export information as required by HMRC, check and request amendments if necessary.
* Filing, photocopying, sorting of incoming, outgoing mail.
* Month End procedures and reconciliation
* Assist with UK vat return.
* Record information necessary to complete Canadian VAT returns.
* Provide cover for credit control.
* All administration work for other departments incorporating Sales, Warehouse and External Sales Executives.
You will need:
1. Good knowledge of excel spread sheets and word.
2. A general knowledge of purchase ledgers/sales ledgers.
3. A good knowledge of Sage line 1000 would be an advantage.
4. Excellent numerical and communication skills.
5. Ability to work in a team and build relationships with internal and external customers.
