Press Brake Setter / Operator required for our well respected and professional manufacturing client based in Brierley Hill.
The role requires strong attributes of effective communication within the team and with the Team Leader to ensure that work is carried out safely, accurately and efficiently. The candidate will have clear competency in setting up machines and be comfortable working with a variety of large sized sheet steel as well as varying sizes of small components.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Understanding drawings: Review and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications to comprehend the required dimensions, angles and tolerances for the formed parts.
* Apply a knowledge of measurements to translate design specifications into precise machine settings for bending operations.
* Pay close attention to tolerance requirement specifications in the technical drawings to ensure the formed parts meet the required quality standards
* Prepare and set up the power press brake machine according to job specifications
* Install the appropriate tooling and dies for the specific bending requirements
* Inspect sheet steel material dimensions comply with the job requirements
* Program the power press brake machine with the necessary parameters, such as bending angles, back gauge positions and tooling requirements
* Input the correct program based on the specific part to be formed
* Operate the power press brake machine to bend and form sheet steel according to engineering drawings and job specifications
* Monitor the machine during operation to ensure accuracy and quality of formed parts
* Perform regular quality checks on formed parts to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards
* Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings to correct any deviations
* Load and unload sheet steel on to/from the power press brake machine safely and efficiently
* Identify and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to Manager or Team Leader
* Adhere to safety protocols or guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries
Specific knowledge/skills that are required
* Previous experience setting & operating AMADA Press Brake machine
* Comfortable with setting up the operating machine
* Minimum three years experience working to high tolerances operating CNC or NC (preferred)
* Competent to carry out set up of machine confidently independently
Working Hours: 7.30am – 4.00pm
Basic Salery: £(phone number removed) per annum + overtime
