ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The job opening is for a full-time Principal Process Engineer in the Western Digital Corporation emerging device fabrication group.
The mission of the group is to build nanoscale devices for a range of exploratory projects such as non-volatile memories, novel magnetic sensor applications, neuromorphic computing, etc.
We are looking for a scientist/engineer with a very strong background in Reactive Ion Etching.
The research cleanroom contains state-of-the-art tools for nanofabrication and is staffed by an interdisciplinary team of approximately 20 engineers and technicians.
The reactive ion etch sector has two dual-chamber tools, capable of etching a wide variety of exploratory materials in addition to standard BEOL materials.
The engineer in this position will work closely with the rest of the team (e.g. design, litho, deposition, metrology, integration) to develop the necessary etch processes.
In addition to managing the R.I.E. sector, candidates will be given opportunities to work on process integration projects.
