Are you a Deputy Manager looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference to the lives of young people and adults?

On behalf of our client, Highbridge Resourcing are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager to join a team that offer a fantastic service that provides accommodation and support services (including outreach support) to 16- 18-year-olds and young adults.

The young people that are supported are from Leaving care and Looked After services and the support offered is to enable them to achieve positive outcomes and transition to independence. Their aim is to support vulnerable young people to manage all aspects of their lives and successfully live independently.

As Deputy Manager this is an autonomous role that will allow you the opportunity to work independently and along side the Manager. You will be required to support the Sheffield area and to liaise with the Manager in the Telford office (travel to Telford will be required). You will need to be a car driver as travel will be part of the role.

As Deputy Manager your role will be.

· To provide good quality, safe, accessible supported accommodation, and support to Young People (16+) Looked After and Leaving Care and vulnerable Adults (YP/A) enabling them to live independently and make informed choices about their future.

· To be responsible for the coordination, planning, and delivery of company intervention packages to YP/A.

· Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of YP/A in the care of the organisation.

· Work alongside the Regional Manager with respect to delivery, planning and ongoing development of services.

· To deputise in the absence of the Regional Manager

· To adhere to Ofsted Support Accommodation Key Principles and deliver services that promote young people’s rights and entitlements.

· Respond to enquires / referrals regarding YP/A’s eligibility for services in the absence of the RM.

· To work as the named outreach worker to an allocated case load of YP/As.

· To cover outreach support sessions in the absence of outreach workers as necessary, including last minute cover

· To secure property for the geographical area and ensure that all properties meet the organisations Decent Homes Standards Policy and Ofsted Regulation 6.

· To support the RM with the safer recruitment and induction of staff

· To work flexibly, including weekends, on rota 24/7 and be available to participate in out of hours service including evenings and weekends.

The experience and qualifications required.

· Three years’ experience of supporting young people - Looked After / Care Leavers and vulnerable adults.

· Knowledge of Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations including Quality Standards March 2023, for 16–17-year-olds.

· In depth understanding of current developments in health and social work practice related to vulnerable young people and adults.

· Management experience and managing staff.

· Experience of working with professional agencies and local authorities.

· Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent and willing to work towards achieving a higher relevant qualification (Level 4 and Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care Leadership and Management)
