Specifications Genius Wanted!
The Specification Technologist oversees the creation and maintenance of product specifications and labels to meet regulatory standards. You will assist in implementing quality systems, participate in audits, and coordinate testing activities. Through handling quality-related issues and product releases, you’ll enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and ensure raw materials' quality. You will be assessing product quality, report non-conformances, respond to queries promptly, maintain food hygiene and comply with health and safety regulations.
This fast-paced role requires technical expertise in manufacturing processes, including HACCP qualifications, internal auditing, and risk assessment skills. Strong computer proficiency, leadership capabilities for driving continuous improvement and a customer service mindset are essential. The ability to analyse logistical challenges, stay updated with industry advancements, and adhere to the company's principles are also vital.
Ideally you have strong English communication skills and a bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field, coupled with at least 2 years of experience as a specification’s technologist. You are self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities, organisational skills and knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices. Proficiency in relevant software and a team-oriented mindset are crucial, along with the ability to work independently and adapt to changing business needs.
