What you'll be doing

• Ensure all operations conducted in line with the minimum Balfour Beatty H&S standards, procedures, and all relevant UK legislation (BS7121, PUWER, LOLER)

• Working with management to co-ordinate operators and transport activities for re-hired cranes

• Working with the management ensuring appropriate asset records are kept (repairs, servicing, compliance etc.) with all operators reporting defects and submitting plant / timesheets on time for re-hired cranes

• Direct supervision of sub-contract activities; major repairs, rigging / de-rigging etc.

• Liaising with site personnel to proactively address any site issues / disputes

• Receiving and rectifying on site complaints

• Co-ordination of asset repair and maintenance for 3rd party cranes ensuring all cross-hired cranes meet BB min. standards.

• Delivery of on-site toolbox talks and briefings

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

• Minimum of Managers & Professionals level CPCS Qualification

• CPCS Competent A40 Slinger Signaller Card (Blue Card) with the following endorsements:

                            o A – All Types – All Duties

• CPCS Competent A62 Crane / Lifting Operations Supervisor Card (Blue Card)

• CPCS Competent A61 Appointed Person – Lifting Operations Card (Blue Card)

• Site Management Qualification – SSSTS / SMSTS

• Knowledge and understanding of industry legislation; BS7121.

• Experience of working within the lifting industry

• Clear customer focus

• Knowledge of plant / asset hire industry

• Clear drive and ambition

• Ability to effectively manage conflict and negotiation

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.

• Knowledge of Health and Safety Management

• Experience working on a construction site

• Ability to work at height

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

• Strong computer skills - focused on Excel / Word / PowerPoint and ideally and ideally conversant with other software, e.g. MS Project.

• First Aid Qualification

• CPCS Tester / Assessor for Crane Operators
